I started this piece in 2022 during a time in my life when I was mainly pulling inspiration from my love for the desert. Dipping my toe into texture, I was proud of the little details I had added with my palette knife. Years later, I found a new pride in teaching myself to build custom floating frames. From cutting and staining the wood to assembling it, it became the perfect addition to this piece. Trying new things, teaching myself new skills, and loving each discovery. This piece represents the simple yet important first steps toward something greater.
